Ok, how does it feel to be picking on a child then?
It doesn't make you sound very nice TLG.

Hi

Thanks for the report. I can add that the last Pudu has now gone to Edinburgh and the P Hippo baby is a female.

Do you know where the Snow leopards will be coming from?

thanks for that and i have no idea where the snow leopards are coming from dalek might know

I have not yet heard where the snow leopards will be coming from, but I feel it very likely at least one will come from Helsinki. Practically all of the snow leopards Marwell has obtained from other collections have come from this zoo, as I belive they have a very strong breeding programme over there.

is helsinki finland? sorry im very bad at geoagrpahy

cant wait for thier arrivals

Yes, tis Finland.

And I asked Bill Hall as mentioned what animals will move into the old pudu enclosure, and as I also said, he didn't know, but said he'd find out. I've sent him an e-mail asking this, but in the meantime, I'm guessing. I suspect the animal however will be from South American Rainforest/Grassland due to it's posistion in the masterplan, so going by enclosure so far, my suspect candidates are peccaries, mara or even bush dogs. But heh, could be something completely different! :p

Don't guess but keep to facts. The old pudu house will almost certainly be demolished soon as it is in a poor state of repair. There is currently a Marwell hatched ostrich chick in there, which may well be the last occupant of the building.

I may be new to this guessing game:p, but you have just guessed at what will happen to the enclosure

Anyway, as I said, only a guessing game. Bill Hall still hasn't replied yet, so I may have some stern searching to do when I visit in December to ask about whether there is a future after the ostrich chick.

is the ostrich chick being handraised? and i agree the building is very old and "should" be bashed down.

If it's being kept seperate from the parents then yes, it means hand-reared. Indeed the house is old; initially built to house cassowary I believe.

but you have just guessed at what will happen to the enclosure

No, I didn't guess, that is what is intended to happen with the enclosure. However I added "probably" as, with any living collection, there can always be events that change plans - such as hand-rearing an ostrich chick.
