Myotragus balearicus is in its own Genus, but in the subfamily Caprinae, or goat-antelopes. It is in the same tribe, Caprini, as the bharal, as well as other sheep like ungulates (such as the ibex). The other tribes are Ovibovini with takin and musk ox, and the tribe Naemorhedini with gorals and serows.
This subfamily is located withing the family Bovidae, which is a family of even-toed ungulates. The other subfamilys are:
Bovidae (Bison, Buffalo, Gaur, Banteng, Eland, Kudu, Bongo)
Cephalophinae (Duiker species)
Hippotraginae (Sable, roan antelope, addax, and oryx species)
Antilopinae (gazelle, klipspringer, dik-dik, and saiga)
Before-mentioned Caprinae
Reduncinae (Reedbuck and lechwe)
Aepycerotinae (Impala)
Peleinae (rhebok)
Alcelaphinae (Topi, Bontebok, Hartebeest, and Wildebeest)
Pantholopinae (Chiru or Tibetan Antelope)
Hope this helps
