This small zoo adjacent to a community science center is one of the newest zoos in North America opening just a few years ago (2006 or 2007, I cannot remember).

This small zoo has an interesting collection with Maned Wolf, Tiger, Ring-tailed Lemur, Giant Anteater, Meerkats, Gibbon, Howler Monkey, American Alligator, etc.

I might be able to stop by this small zoo on my way to or back from the NC Zoo in a few weeks. A very interesting collection - I'm curious as to how well done the exhibits are. My favorite captive gibbon is also here!
 
Im impressed such a small zoo brings a half million in attendance annually with the NC Zoo only an hour away. I would figure a zoo with NC's collection would smother any zoo within three or four hours of there asheboro location. I would also like to know what the science centers exhibits look like and its good to see another zoo in NC.
