NAUSICAÄ, the French National Sea Experience Centre, is much more than a mere aquarium.

NAUSICAÄ is a unique place where visitors can discover the marine environment. At once entertaining, educational and scientific, the Centre derives its originality from its main focus on the relationship between Man and the Sea.

Since 1991, NAUSICAÄ has been determined to raise public awareness about the importance of managing the oceans and their resources as “Caring for the Blue Planet, you can make a difference”.

Sow it is been told on the website, and i can say, except one poor looking penguinexhebit I liked it very much. And i usualy don"t like aquariums. But this one has also a small collection of reptiles and a bassin for Sealions ;) :)

too bad they crammed the sharks in a tank that really isn't fit for them.
especially since the circular tank that now houses the amazon fish and cayman was a shark tank and a lot better for the sandbars.

I'm also disappointed to see that you have virtually no pics of the coral-exhibit. this is one of the largest and most impressive coral-displays in europe.

the iguana, mantella frog and pardalis chameleon are new to me. where do they keep those?

Bully,

Unfortunally my camera isn't the right one for pictures in dark places, that's the reason why coral-exhibits aren't photografed by me. And second, i am not into the Coral world. Sorry for that ;)

The reptiles are in the temporary expo now, this year the theme was Madagascar there :)

FYI coral tanks are of the best lit tanks in aquariums. those things need a lot of light to grow. so technically speaking you should have a better shot at corals than at those sandtigers :p

and even if you're not into corals it's far more beautiful than tanks with a dull grey rocky background (the stone kind, not the boxer) + nausicaas reef has a huge n° of surgeonfish, cardinalfish, clownfish, angelfish, ... in it too.

madagascan chameleons and frogs, figures for a madagascan theme

I was not fully clearly against you, i ment that the hallway were the tanks are, those were pretty dark. And my camera is not the best camera for places like that...

But if you can do better, just go to there then! :)
And we will watch at you pictures :D
