Im doing a project for this architectural competition and i was thinking about making an exhibit specifically for the LA zoo. I'm trying to decide between The Caribbean and the Sahara desert. I'm leaning towards the Caribbean, but im thinking the setting may be too similar to the new rainforests of the americas exhibit. Any help would be appriciated

I like the Sahara but thats just me. I just wanted to point out to you that there is a fantasy forum too which would probably be even more helpful as you would get all kinds of ideas from people who really like dreaming up their own zoos. Plus you would get prespective from all over the world. Just a thought.
I think Sahara would work better, incorporating the sub-Saharan shrub-lands to add more species to the relatively small amount of animals that actually live in the Sahara. I'm thinking that antelope species (addax, dama gazelle, scimitar oryx) should be the major species in the exhibit complex other animals such as the following (not specific): cats (i.e. cheetahs), foxes (i.e. fennec), migratory birds (i.e. ibises), reptiles (i.e. monitors). Maybe an Egyptian themed exhibit to incorporate Nile hippos and other animals...

As this is an architectural competition, are you looking for an impressive building to create?
Yes, most likely part of an overall exhibit. I just really wanted to do something zoo related and I figured not many people would do something like this
