I recently bought a Nikon D40X and went to test it at the zoo.

Wow utterly fantastic, I am in awe of your potographical abilities. I particularly love the young orangutan clinging on, so dramatic!

Very nice!
I particularly like the gentle lemur (not for the obvious reason, but because of the composition) and the warty pig. To my eyes, the colours are slightly oversaturated - but most people don't share my taste in colours.

I agree, it is the Gentle Lemur that stands out for me. What lens are using on this?
The camera takes really nice photos.

Gentle lemur, How do I change the colours? I have just used the auto mode and the supressed flash mode on the camera? And for one or two used sport to make them super sharp.

Chris I'm using the sigma 18-55mm and the nikon 70-300mm VR lenses.

Thanks for the comments!

My Nikon is older than yours, I think, but on mine saturation is controlled with a little button with a plus and minus on. You press it, then twizzle the scroller to change the saturation level. Yours may be the same, usually they're fairly conservative with their designs to help people switching from one to the other.

I'm not sure if there's a way of doing it in-camera as I have never used that model: you'll have to read the manual :) I recommend the Nikon Support Centre Find Answers which has a lot of useful information about Nikon products (but you have to register to download stuff).
Alternatively any decent image processing program will let you control the saturation(and much more besides).

Sorry, I was on about exposure, duh!

That button I was on about is useful for anything white like swans, spoonbills, pelicans etc
