The Asian Elephant known as Chengalloor Ranganathan carried the main idol during Thrissur's Arttupuzha Pooram from 1906 to 1914. After his death his skeleton was preserved in the State Museum in Kerala's Thrissur district. He was of record size being comparable to Raja Gaj and a full foot taller than Thechikkottukavu Ramachandran. A new documentary is coming out about him.
