Singapore Night Safari New exhibit/attraction at night safari?

Hi I went to the Night Safari website recently and from its map, there was a new exhibit attraction thing called Naracoorte Cave with "Opening Soon" beside it. Anyone knows what is it about?

the Naracoorte Caves are in South Australia, if that's a clue

My guesstimate is that it will open in September or October (to coincide with Halloween). As what Chlidonias pointed out, it will be a walk-in artificial cave exhibit based on the Naracoorte Caves in Australia. It will supposedly house bats and invertebrates.

There are/were plans to turn the entire Forest Giants Trail into an Australian-themed trail. So the cave exhibit could be the first piece of the puzzle.

Disclaimer: I'm not an official information source, I don't work for Wildlife Reserves Singapore nor do I represent them. ;)

thanks for the quick replies! Initially I thought that it will be just a walk thru with no animals. It is quite cool to actually walk inside a cave with animals/exhibits in it.

The Naracoorte Cave is open (haven't seen it myself though), and despite its Aussie name, houses mainly Southeast Asian cave-dwelling invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians (whip-scorpion, giant forest scorpion, giant centipede, cave racer snake, giant river toad, etc). The cave also has an artificial glow-worm colony and a small cascade.

The link below has some pictures of the cave (as well as the rest of Night Safari, in Halloween mode). All photos are property of the British Council Singapore:

lol

[EDIT: it appears that didn't work as intended, but on the first page of the Flickr link Zooish gave is a photo of a baby (doll) skewered on a pole covered in blood with a spider crawling out of its eye socket :D]

Lol.. yeah, its changed alright! Mutilated baby dolls are now part of the attraction!

Halloween at Night Safari is a big event, when the annual visitor attendance peaks. Its a fun, if somewhat cheesy, experience. Although zoo purists will likely scorn at it. ;)
