Hello, I am a new member and glad to find this Zoo Chat. I am 76 years old and worked in the zoo business for 34 years. I was a Herpeculturist in the
Fort Worth zoo Herpetarium when it first opened for 3 years about 1961 under Lawrence Curtis. Curator of reptiles & birds in Waco Central Texas Zoo. Supervisor of Reptiles Houston Zoo under John E Werler. Director and curator of reptiles Lufkin Zoo, Retired as Director of Waco Cameron Park Zoo and
am now Director Emeritus of Cameron Park Zoo a title I am very proud of .I have enjoyed visits to many zoos and had the pleasure to be friends with some of the great herpers no longer with us. I have a question, in the middle
1970s I visited the LA Zoo and was in the keeper area of Reptile House and
saw on display a large eastern diamondback that I never forgot, it was by far the largest I have seen it was beautiful. I would love to know the size of that snake I have a picture of it alive and a picture of it in a case being held by
one of the reptile keepers. Hope someone knows about it. Hope to spend some time with zoo chat it looks like a great place.
