Twycross Zoo New Membership fees for 2025

Went to Chester Zoo on Saturday with our Twycross passes. The first lady we spoke to told us Twycross wasn't a member of BIAZA so the passes weren't valid but then another staff member overheard and said they were fine.

We live in Newcastle but we tend to go down south on holiday every summer so we get Twycross passes. We go to Chester once a year, Marwell and Twycross during said holiday and Edinburgh at Christmas so the passes work out well. We've also been to Paignton, Colchester and Highland using the passes.

We will probably now change our membership to Edinburgh when this one expires as without the free entry to other zoos there seems very little point in a Twycross pass.

Just to confirm for members visiting the zoo. You need to make an account via the zoos website where you can put your registration in. You will not need to pay for parking.

Or you can pay at the “Box Office” in Himalaya where you can register your car.

It seems to be a shambles. I've just logged in to see where to input my reg and couldn't find it.
Tried booking and this time did get the reg box but crazy if you have to book online each time as a member.

I'm not entirely sure who you think is visiting Twycross without a car :D as it is one of the hardest (and most awkward) zoological collections in the country to reach by any other means of transport!

Well, me for one! But I appreciate it's niche.

(My first visit was by train and bicycle - it's a lovely ride through the likes of Orton-on-the-Hill and Sheepy Magna.)

On another note just check Colchester zoos member ship and Twycross is missing on there’s looks like they have made a right balls up Zoo Passholder T&Cs - Colchester Zoological Society

It seems clear that Twycross has made a tactical decision to withdraw from the scheme. Time will tell if that works out for them. Despite proximity I haven't felt the need to go more than once a year for some time - previously that was free with my Chester membership, now I'll pay one entrance fee. For me, not a big deal, but a shame. If they are hoping I'll be buying a Twycross annual pass as result they'll be disappointed, but I don't think I'm the target for this anyway.

My least favourite change is still when Woburn dropped out (which I understand was because (of a fear that?) a non-charity zoo on the list would have stopped the other zoos claiming Gift Aid on memberships/passes).

I note that Hertforshire and ZSEA are not yet on the Colchester list - will be interesting to see if they turn up in time or if they have a direct deal with Chester (I suspect the former).
