Interesting, this will be far easier to get to than the current location. Although, it is nice to be able to double up the visit with Save our Seabirds right now.

The new aquarium is nearly complete, the old location closed and the animals are starting to be moved.

At this time there is no date set for the new aquarium to open to the public.

Honestly, looking at construction photos and the data on the project, this is a pretty impressive place that should be more on ZooChatter's radar than it seems to be.

Oh wow, I was just there in late June, had no idea they'd be closing the new facility so soon. I was talking with a few employees there about the new facility & a model/installation videos they had running in the gift shop, really looks to be super nice- I'm very much looking forward to it! (plus, it's closer to Tampa, even if marginally, which you won't see me complaining about.)
