Hi-
Anyone know of any South American Rainforest exhibits in the planning or construction stage?

The Los Angeles Zoo is building a large new "Rainforests of the Americas" exhibit that is scheduled to open this year. It will feature tapirs, giant otters, red uakaris, harpy eagles, and several other species not yet announced.

Beardsley is currently working on a South American expansion. Right now they're doing Pampas Plains but it's very likely that one of the four phases will include either a new rainforest exhibit or, most likely, a renovation/expansion of their current rainforest building.

The Living Planet Aquarium's new building will have a large indoor rainforest with free-flight birds, freshwater stingray touch pool, Amazon Giant's tank, anaconda, dwarf caimans, mata-matas, toucans, electric eel, flooded forest, frogs and inverts. Opens December 2013.
