Finished reading it last night, definitely worthwhile if you like snow leopards. It is an anthology of short chapters by a variety of experts, most of home are among the elite few to have actually seen a snow leopard in the wild. The varied authors make it interesting and the chapters are each so short (8-10 pages) that it is easy to pick off small bits here and there when you have time. Also a dozen or so color plates inserted with some amazing camera trap photos.
Of interest to us zoo people is the story of an Indian wildlife officer who was given an orphaned cub and raised it in a large enclosure at his outpost. When it was time for him to be transferred, he sent the female cat to the Himalayan Wildlife Park (or whatever it is called) where it produced several cubs, infusing wild genes into the captive population.
