Dublin Zoo has welcomed a new female Brazilian tapir to the zoo. Named Rio, she has been introduced to Dublin Zoo’s male tapir Marmaduke. Zookeepers hope that Rio, who is two years old and comes from Marwell Park in the UK, and Dublin Zoo resident Marmaduke will become a breeding pair in the future.
Dublin Zoo’s resident red panda Chota, will also be joined by the arrival of a new mate. Two year old Angelina from Berlin Tierpark in Germany will be introduced to Chota over the coming weeks in the hope that they will bond and mate.
