just thought it would be a gd plan if people recieved monthly updates about zoos in their countrys for example births deaths new arrivals transfers new developments etc
 
Thats sort of what this whole site is. Except, its more regular than monthly and there's a whole bunch of people updating rather than a single person. It works well, lol :)
 
I expect most zoos with membership clubs do send out regular newsletters, either by email or post, to their members

At the Los Angeles Zoo its called Zoo Scape, a monthly newsletter mailed to all GLAZA (Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association) members. With updates on just those very things suggested by you anidude. That's in edition to the quarterly zoo magazine Zoo View. I have back issues of both publications that go back many years. Especially ZooView, which date back to the 1960s.

Some do, but in my experience news about zoo happenings can be very thin on the ground (the preference is to tell us about some far-flung project). I find it's often better to look at the zoo's website, Twitter, Faceache or MySpace page, or better still surf the boards here.
