I made an educational comment on the Yahoo article for this, stating that rattlers aren't poisonous and are infact venomous - it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine to the same level of monkeys and apes. I also identified that stepping on the snake caused extra danger, and that it would have been better to have shouted for assistance.

Typical though, it got a thumbs down. Never try to educate on a news story like this, it seems people just don't want to know :(

To be fair, most of the comments were witty and funny, so maybe a factual post isn't appropriate there? :confused:

I don't think it was :p

The comment is still up, by Christopher John. It's easier to find if you put the order as newest first, then I think go to the bottom and click more, should appear in the second batch :)

Don't be disheartened - all of my comments/corrections about articles are never printed, so you are lucky that yours is still up. :p

Hadn't noticed that the article itself was incorrect when I put my comment, it was aimed at the other commenters :p.

I have a few thumbs down for my comments on there, don't know why - all I've been saying is that snakes aren't the evil monsters that people seem to think :p
