I stopped into the Alaska Zoo this afternoon. It was a frosty 15f. The Polar Bears were enjoying some frozen fruit treats in honor of Cranbeary’s birthday. The zoo has apparently welcomed back the Arctic Fox into its collection. The Tibetan Yaks had a calf in their exhibit. I got the chance to view the new Amur Tiger. There were a few new exhibit enclosures for species already present at the zoo. The old Moose habitat looks to have been removed. The area is now bisected by a new pathway and the old Moose yard now divided between an “orphan” enclosure and what looks like (based on the reinforced barriers) an expansion of the Muskox enclosure. Pictures in the gallery.
