have numbats ever beeen kept in a uk zoo? i seem to remember them at newquay zoo, but i was only about 6 so it might just be a figment of my imagination,

I don't remember any numbats in the UK within the last 30 years. I would think if anyone has had them it would be London in the 19th centuary. Nevertheless I'd love to see some.

Numbat haven't been kept in the UK certainly in my memory so at least not since 1950's. They are probably rather difficult to keep being exclusively ant/termite eaters though diet could prove less of a problem to overcome than importation or stress-related death. I doubt they will ever be seen in a UK zoo.

I have seen them in Perth Zoo in Australia, one of the few zoos that has(or had) them.

thanks in that case it was probably my imagination. just that it's been on my mind for ages and now i am finally sure that they weren't numbats. thank you.
