I was just lazy and copied GL's name. They were actually white-fronted Capuchins.
I don't like the name white-fronted capuchins (a direct translation of Cebus albifrons), because they have no white on their fronts - just a paler shade of brown. The monkeys that I remember were officially white-throated capuchins (Cebus capucinus), which have their faces, sides of head and shoulders white, as well as their throats, with the rest of their bodies black. I always think of them as black and white capuchins, but I apologise for using the name here and for any confusion caused. Zootierliste surprised me by confirming this memory
Pertinax jogged my memory of the Himalayan (Asian black) bears, which I now recollect clearly. They had a very large enclosure which won an award.

Incidentally, Glasgow Zoo's female white rhinoceros was "Mashobini" the southern white rhino from London Zoo; she was sent to Glasgow in 1986 shortly after "Ben", London Zoo's male northern white rhino, was sent to Dvur Kralove.
