New Attractions Come to Oglebay Park
June 5, 2012

Oglebay's Good Zoo has new additions this summer, featuring two new African wild dogs and a new spectacled bear. The zoo welcomed a 2-year-old female wild dog and an 18-month-old male.

The transfer of the wild dogs is part of planned breeding recommendations from a species survival plan. The new dogs can be viewed daily at the wild dogs exhibit. The African wild dog has become an endangered species in its native range due to a combination of factors, including habitat fragmentation and disease.

The zoo also welcomed a male spectacled bear, Joaquin, from Connecticut's Beardsly Zoo in April. The spectacled bear is the only species of bear in South America, and wild populations have become endangered due to hunting and habitat loss.

Me and friend are going to this zoo tomorrow. If anyone wants me to find anything out let me know. Im going to take pictures of exhibits and animals. There's not a whole lot of info bout the zoo and pictures so ill take care of that haha :)

I've always been curious what this zoo looks like so look forward to your pictures and review. If possible could you take a picture of their map also so we can see the layout of the zoo? I hope that you have a great tour of the zoo.

Yes details and a picture of the map would be great! My fiance and I want to go to the National Aviary in the fall and he wants to make a stop at this zoo on the way home. I'm reluctant to go because their website it horrible and I am afraid it's not worth going to visit.

I work there. :D

I'm glad you're interested in visiting our zoo, and I'm open to any sort of questions you have.

I hate our web page. It's bland, and all contained on a small page of the Oglebay Park website with not much information.
