re: San Diego Zoo & San Diego Wild Animal Park

Hey for anyone interested but on Internet Archive.com there's a 'treasure trove' of old guidebooks (and other books), newsletters ('Zoonooz') and believe a couple of old maps too etc - for San Diego Zoo and also some for San Diego Wild Animal Park. Here's the link/source: Zoological Society of San Diego- Internet Archive: Digital Library

As a lot of you probably alreayd know, there's a lot of really good old resources on the Internet Archive just with entering on their search engine. Amongst the many old zoo annual reports on there is for example, one for New York Zoological Society annual reports (some from over a century ago, and later like 1979 (link/souce: Annual Reports New York Zoological Society : Internet Archive: Digital Library). Some of the resources like this one for example has a pdf form which can be saved, but all of them have an online reading template will scroll functions, zooming in and out, word searches, things like that.

Hi Steveroberts, thanks very much for this very useful info. I didn't know this website address. I'm particularly interested in old annual reports. Do you know any other addresses, since the ones you mentioned only apply to San Diego and New York, right?

Hey, oh no worries. Hoping that other online resource sites might be found with other zoos reports and things. With the ones on Internet Archive have noticed that Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free & Borrowable Texts (Zoological Society of Victoria) for Melbourne Zoo from 1860s and 1870s on and off to 1880s to 1934 consistantly exists. But with other zoos think its only a few things on there. Think London Zoo has online reports somewhere. There are some other texts on there too which are really good and videos too and things, just making the search more general with zoos as search prompts (four part video of visiting Singapore Zoo back in the 1990s that someone filmed which saw a bit of and seemed like interesting footage). But New York, San Diego and Melbourne the ones who have the most resources on there.
