With the world rhino population at around 30,000 and 1,020 poaching deaths just this year alone, they are now being killed faster then they can reproduce. One plan going into effect, Operation Rhino Drop.

Fascinating prospect - here's hoping it's successful and gives the rhinos a chance to make a comeback, as wishful thinking as that may be. Wonder if such a situation could be applied to the Sumatran species.
