I've heard from someone with a lot of experience in working with orangutans that mating during pregnancy is a common occurence in a captive situation.

For the past two days Gambira and Mali have been in the Show area and seem to be enjoying time together.Although Mali was trying to prise open the door to the outside and they both spent a lot of time gazing out of the window.
