Zoo Frankfurt Orangutans

Any Orangutans at Frankfurt still? I know they used to have one called Horst.

Of course they do, but only sumatran orangs. Once they kept both species of orang-utans, but a few years ago, they stopped keeping borneo orangs. They had an orang namend Horst, he was born January 31, 1978. But I don't know, which species he was and what happend to him.

Horst is Bornean. Far as I know, he is breeding in Auckland, New Zealand.

Yes Horst is a bornean orangutan and he is currently at Auckland Zoo

I was just trying to find out more information about him from when he was at Frankfurt. It's interesting to know his birthday.

Horst and 2 females are moving to Busch Gardens in Florida via LA Zoo at the end of July. Auckland Zoo has dedicated a section on it's website to them.
