Orbicular Batfish in Florida???

US Red Junglefowl stock have been cross-bred between subspecies since they first arrived in America, I would be very surprised if any potential feral populations are pure subspecies, let alone not hybridized with domestic chickens.

They were released by the Georgia DNR, this wasn't just any cage release. I suspect they were imported.

They were, specifically for release nonetheless. From India, if my sources are right. They were bred in huge numbers upon importation, but 95 percent of the releases failed. :p

If they're from India then they're not the Burmese subspecies ;) :p

Still, I would be a little surprised if any remaining animals were purebred.
