This is a small private bird park under construction in town Jaroměř.

Planned opening is ca March 2024. Total areal under ownership of the park is 3000 m2, however only around 1000 m2 would be developed with aviaries and other infrastructure at first. This place won´t try to get a zoo licence thus will collect only "voluntary" entry fee. It will also run a rescue station for exotic birds with approved capacity of 100 birds.

The HP lists 50 birds species (common species kept around here in private hands) that should be exhibited in Orni Park. And red-necked wallabies. The list might be incomplete because text elsewhere mentions a waterfowl exhibit is planned too.

Lets see if it really opens, what its final collection will be and if it can survive.

The opening day is set for 1th of April. With final list of 60 bird species.

It started to hire staff. It looks for two full-time bird keepers and also part-time students / interns.

The owner is currently a bird keeper at Dvur Kralove zoo, but the ornipark will show only birds from his hobby private collection. He applied for zoo licence in January.

The owner gave an inteview - where to find it. (would anybody be interested in a translation?).

And a small note for anybody who would be interested to visit this place. On outskirts of town Jaromer is a place called Ptačí Park Jaroměřické Louky. Ptačí Park means bird park, however this is a land trust that takes care of meadows for wild watefowl. The only captive animals there are Exmoor ponies, cattle or other domestic hoodstock that grazes there. Don´t mix these up.

So, the bird park opened in May. And closed for unknown period of time (forever ?) since late July when it has been vandalised and some animals missing.

This little park opened again in September. But is currently closed for a few days to clean debris and mud caused by rain and wind. Weather caused death of a few animals like guinea pigs, one golden-shouldered parrot and elegant parrot. The park will start to charge entrance fee next year.
