What you know about PAAZA? I visited their page and mostly there are member zoos from South Africa (more than 10), and by one from Egypt, Uganda and Madagascar.

I know that they collaborate with EAZA.

What is the probability that they can be involved in ex city conservation of some more notiable African species and their exchange with oversea zoos, animals like: Black rhinoceros, forest elephant, Massai giraffe, gerenuks, okapi!, different lemur species, western lowland gorilla, to include new bonobos in captive population in US and Europe, great blue turaco, etc.

Hopefully in near future they will be able to establish captive management of some rare animals like okapis witn new bloodlines from DR Congo, as we know that okapis currently can't be imported from DR Congo to Europe or to North America because of veterinary reasons, but their eventual offsprings (or F2 generation) can be, via South Africa in particular. European okapi population will benefit a lot from new animals with unrepresented genes in the population.
