Located in Central America, bordering both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, Panama is poised to become a country filled with many historic wins for our environment. Panama City will be host to the upcoming 19th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES CoP19), which runs from November 14-25th. And it is here at this event – surrounded by clear turquoise waters, cloud forests, and coffee farms – that many scientists hope sharks will “win big.”
