Papilonia Teplice (butterfly exhibit)

Earlier this month, another Papilonia branch has opened (already number 8 within Czechia) in spa town Teplice. A butterfly walk-through room situated within a shopping mall.

Open: daily 9am - 8pm
Theming - dinosaur archeological site within "jungle" (not much vegetation yet)

Czechia now has EIGHT butterfly places? Not only is there a lot of zoos in that nation, but it's fascinating how popular the walk-through butterfly establishments have taken off in popularity.

We have a few additional independent butterfly exhibits that don´t run under Papilonia chain /franchise so that number is a little higher than eight. I think they might soon achieve saturation point (or maybe it is already over it?), lets wait few years to see if new places in less popular locations can achieve reasonable return on investment and remain open longterm.

While I find the whole idea of constant import of butterflies from tropical farms to populate for-profit exhibits morally shady, I might actually be happy it´s affecting just invertebrates animals. It might get worse once / if new trends like papugarnia arrive here in full force .
