On 5 June 2021, a new animal and family Park Joo opened to visitors in Zbožíčko in the Nymburk region.

CTK / A new animal and family Park Joo has opened to visitors in Zbožíčko in the Nymburk region. The complex, which was created in the wintering ground of the Jo-Joo circus, offers guided tours of animals and attractions for children. The program today included demonstrations of circus performances, such as juggling or dog agility. Dozens of people did not miss the opening of the park, mostly families with small children. The youngest visitors could ride a pony or take part in feeding the animals. There was also interest in swings and a bouncy castle.

According to manager Lenka Gregorová, this is a way to make the circus accessible to visitors under current conditions. "We would like to continue with the circus, but it is mainly a reaction to the pandemic situation. We did not know if we would be able to go out and what numbers of visitors would be allowed in the tent. , "Gregorová told ČTK.

She pointed out that each trip is very expensive for the circus. "It's not just about packing up and taking off. We're a little worried that we're going to put in huge costs and effort, and if the situation got worse and we had to shut down, it would unfortunately be completely financially unbearable for us after last intermittent season, maybe even liquidation, "Gregorová added.

According to her, fans kept asking about the opening of the Jo-Joo circus, and according to Gregorová, not only circus artists but also animals lack performances. Another reason for the commissioning of the park is the legislation that will ban the dressage of apes, beasts and other species of wild animals in circuses and similar facilities in the future. The enclosures in the animal and family park are equipped with information signs, visitors can see more than two dozen different animals. The Ussuri tigers and American cougars attract a lot of attention, in addition to them there are, for example, llamas, a crocodile, a snake or monkeys.
