The Parker Manatee Aquarium is part of the South Florida Museum (and planetarium) in Bradenten, Florida, south of Tampa. The only living residents are Snooty, a 61 year old manatee (probably the oldest captive one) and a few young manatees. The young manatees are only held until they can be released into the wild. They are not fed directly by the keepers because they need to learn to fend for themselves. Various greens are stuck into traffic cones to simulate growing plants along the bottom.
