Chester Zoo Personal Vision for Chester - Part 2

I agree it is not one of the worst in Britain, I don't know which zoo gets that award since I myself don't take too much of an interest in Chimps (prefer gorillas and orangs). It is decent enough for the animals, but it is very unpleasing to the eye and is simply out of date compared to Chester's other exhibits (these things happen, 15-20 years down the line and Spirit (my fave at Chester) will seem out of date.

Tsavo African Savannah

I've completed my first sector of my new map and a vision to accompany (the map was created by my 'Sketch, Sharpie, Scan and er... Paint' method)
So here it is:

Tsavo African Savannah

Is a large, beautiful group of exhibits in the West Zoo. The area 'begins' with a meal at the the Tsavo Cafe, which overlooks the Banded Mongoose and Warthog exhibit. The atmosphere is further set by looking through a hide into the brand-new Tsavo Wetlands Aviary, which a stunning selection of Wetlands birds, the Tsavo Bird Safari, and a few African Crane Species.

The first major exhibit in the area is the Tsavo Black Rhino Experience, which is the same as it is currently. The old Kafue Flats Lechwe paddock is refurbished so it can hold Rhinos permanently, and it now has indoor quarters, which are adjacent to those for the Meerkats, and an indoor area for the new Crested Porcupine enclosure.

The Rhino paddock nearest to the old house becomes a Sitatunga paddock. A new path is constructed to the old rhino house, which is now the African Mammal House. The house is made up of indoor areas for the Sitatunga, Banded Mongoose and Warthogs, along with Yellow Mongooses, Dwarf Mongooses and Aardvarks which have outdoor areas along the path. There is also a new paddock for Grevy's Zebra opposite the Meerkats.

The new African Village goes ahead on the old Przewalski's Wild Horse hard standing area, and the Painted Dogs enclosure also goes ahead. The Kafue Flats Lechwe are still mixed with Roan Antelope.

The Ostrich have left the collection and the Sitatunga have moved to a new paddock, so their old paddock now houses Sable Antelope. The Gemsbok and Dik-Diks stay as they are now.

The Grevy's Zebra paddock is replaced with a new Giraffe House and paddock. For the majority of the year, if possible, they also have access to the Scimitar Horned Oryx Paddock.

Attached is a (very messy) map

Love it :D. I aim to continue my map sometime, but right now I'm designing my own zoo under general discussion and that's taking up my time.

I've just started working on 'Asian Adventure', a huge area which starts at Elephants of the Asian Forest and ends at the Red Panda enclosure. It has obviously the Elephants, along with Asian Plains, a newly-refurbished Monkey Islands, the Asian Steppe, the newly themed-fountain lawn area, an Australian area and finally the beautiful Oriental Garden :D

I'm also doing two smaller areas, 'Beginnings' and 'Bears of the Cloud Forest'
