Highland Wildlife Park Photography Tour

Hey, great site. Recently accompanied someone on the Photography Tour of the Highland Wildlife park and I have to say it was a fantastic experience. The Park itself is a bit of trek for those south of the border and it's not the largest park in the world, but all the animals have great enclosures and he surroundings make for some very unique scenery! Most of the animals present are indigenous to Scotland, the Arctic, northern Europe and northern Asia and this suits the tundra like setting very well.

In case you didn't know the Park is divided into two seperate parts, there's the walk-around section which features the Polar Bears, Tigers, Wolves, Snow Monkeys and much more, then there's the drive-around reserve section which features mostly hooved animals in a safari style enclosure.

The photography tour itself was excellent and included special access for photographers and a very knowledgeable guide who accompanied and transported the group throughout the day.

Anyway, she's done a blog featuring the story and some photos if you would like a look.

As I said, it is a bit of a trek, but if you ever find yourself up that part of the world it is definitely worth a visit as it has something a bit different from your conventional mainstream zoo.

Very nice and glad you have joined ZooChat.

I was at the park about three weeks ago and enjoyed my visit. The photo tour sounds great though and would have been a nice add on if it had worked out with my trip. (I did do one photo workshop at Wildlife Heritage Foundation that was very worthwhile).

Thanks for the report.
