Photos and information thread for Best UK threads

This is this thread which people can upload photos of enclosures and give me information on exhibits if they are outdated or no longer hold them. I got the Mongoose thread deleted since it was not accurate and I am adding cusimanse into it also (although Dwarf will be kept separate since there are too many if they are all in one thread)

The Best UK Mongoose enclosure thread will go live on 26th October 2023. These are what I have listed:

Banded

Axe Valley
Cannon Hall
Borth
Beale
Port Lympne
Flamingo Land
Cassiobury

Egyptian

Animal Adventure Farm Park

Yellow

Axe Valley
Curraghs
Lake District WP
Belfast
Cotswold
Tilgate
Capel Manor
Africa Alive
Kirkleathem
Messingham
Newquay
Reaseheath
Paultons
Call Of The Wild
Southend SL
Tropiquaria
Marwell
Woburn

Cusimanse

Axe Valley
Chessington
Calderglen
All Things Wild
Shepreth
Marwell
Wignham

Note: I know from the now deleted thread that Folly Farm do not hold the species anymore and Chester have theirs offshow.

I planned on making a Best UK Malagasy Mongoose thread from the species in the Malagasy carnivores section on ZTL. Is this a good idea for a thread or should it be put in this thread too?

I will make these a few days in advance of creating the actual poll.

Ark wildlife and dinosaur park have banded mongoose and yellow mongoose (the former in an enclosure together, the latter shares with one meerkat).

Africa alive have two enclosures with yellow mongoose. One is the photo in the original poll. The second is a mixed enclosure for meerkats and yellow mongoose.

Despite their name, the Malagasy mongooses, or euplerids, are very distinct to other mongooses, or herpestids, and although fairly close, form a separate branch or carnivores. As such, I would probably suggest their own thread.

If/when you get round to the dwarf mongoose thread, please note that London’s dwarf mongooses are now held in one of the former meerkat enclosures (near the otters), so try to use photos of that as opposed to the enclosure by the lions, which would likely come up if you search for pictures of London’s dwarf mongoose enclosure. :)

I'd generally suggest that the single best thing you could do for the quality of these threads would be to not churn out anywhere near as many, nor as rapidly as you have been - including this thread, and the deleted mongoose thread, you've so far posted fifteen "best of" threads in this month alone.

Yes, correct. Maybe one every two weeks for each country?

I am going to reboot a best orang enclosure soon for the UK, which will put both species in one instead of two separate like last time. If there are any major new developments on the species or not on ZTL tell me here.
