Here is the link - hope it works - to an article on The Aspinall Foundation's website about proposed plans for converting the Port Lympne mansion into a boutique hotel and building luxury tree houses. As if it wasn't bad enough not being able to visit the wonderful Spencer Roberts Mural Room in the mansion, etc, etc for the last 2 years - only those attending events such as weddings can enter now. And this proposal for a hotel out of the blue is the last straw for me - what you do think? Does anybody know anything more about the proposals - how many people will be staying in the mansion at any one time, whether they have to pay extra, where the tree houses will be put and how many, etc?

All very sad indeed, but I can't say that I'm at all shocked. Port Lympne was my favourite UK zoo; I can't see me bothering to visit in the future the way things are going.
