As a fan of The Rolling Stones I need to start my introduction like this of course
My name is Cindy, 38 years young (only for a few more days, then I'll turn 37 … oh no, I can only count back in my dreams ….39 on 3 November). I live in The Netherlands, in Breda. Since July 2010 I'm without a job so now I have a lot of spare time. Time I prefer to spend in zoo's. Not an easy thing to do when you have no work, but I manage. I visit Apenheul and Rotterdam Zoo at least once a week. Artis preferably also once a week, but because of some other activities (for instance: I do volunteer work in a old people's home) I can't make it once a week most of the time. Other zoo's I like to visit are Burgers' Zoo and GaiaZoo. Besides that occasionally Safari Park Beekse Bergen, Planckendael, Antwerp Zoo, Ouwehands Zoo and Emmen Zoo. I also started to visit small Dutch zoo's. So far I've been to De Wissel (some ugly, disappointing cages) and Dierenrijk (was okay). Still on my 'to visit list' in The Netherlands: Amersfoort Zoo, Best Zoo and Zooparc Overloon.
I also visited three German zoo's this year and I'm planning on visiting more of them during Holiday's next year (that is: if I have work again). Only the zoo's that hold gorilla's (to begin with).
My favorite animal is the gorilla. Those beautiful animals really fascinate me. Especially the groups with (young) kids. My favorite zoo is Apenheul, because apes/monkeys are my favorite animals (not only the gorilla, I have more favorites). I also love tigers, polar bears, elephants, hyena's and lions. But I visit all the animals in the zoo's when I'm there. My goal is always to see all of them. Sometimes that's a tough job and may take some time, but I take the time when I go to zoo's. Something most of the occasional visitors don't do. Then they complain on the internet that they didn't see all the animals. In 99% of the cases that's completely their own fault and not the zoo's fault!
Besides visiting zoo's I have other hobbies:

Besides visiting zoo's I have other hobbies:
- listening to music. Since a few years I'm really into blues rock. Before that time rock and hard rock (genres I still love). But I can also appreciate some kinds of pop, funk, jazz and soul etc. I have a large taste (if that's the correct way to say it). Some people call it a bad taste
Some of my favorite artists: The Rolling Stones, Golden Earring, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, Gov't Mule, Walter Trout, Michael Burks, Julian Sas, Eric Sardinas, Meat Loaf and many many more;
- reading. I love reading thrillers. In English! My favorite writers are: Tess Gerritsen, Tami Hoag, Karin Slaughter, David Baldacci, Linda Castillo and Oliver Stark;
- cuddling and playing with my pets. I have six cats. Two males and four females. They all come from (various) animal shelters and all are sterilized;
- playing board games on the internet.
