Does any of the Cincinnati Residents know how the zoos are??
What does this mean ''Poor Ohio"?
Cincinnati zoo is amazing, it has many great exhibits and awful ones like any other zoo. The Jungle Trails is no doubt the best, it opened in 1993, and is rated the greatest and probably the most favorite attraction at the zoo. Jungle Trails received the American Zoo and Aquarium Association's prestigious exhibit award in 1994. It is a naturalized rain forest habitat, teeming with rare and exotic wildlife and hundreds of plant species from Asia and Africa. The exhibit, with both indoor and outdoor viewing areas, and has become the home for the Zoo's collection of rare primates.
Rhino reserve, Tiger Canyon, Gorilla World, World of the Insect, and the Sumatran rhino exhibit are the best also. The zoo has also broken many U.S. records like: having the largest Komodo dragon in captivity, having the oldest alligator in history (70), first Pallas' cats, Indian rhinos and the first Persian leopards born from AI. Having the most gorilla births (49). Having the first sea lion, bison and trumpeter swan birth in captivity. Also of course the most famous one, the Sumatran rhino births, they hold the record for the most gorilla births in one year (6). The Cincy zoo is the only zoo breeding tayras and steller's sea eagles. Also of the course the oldest zoo building, the Reptile/Monkey house. Has the first barless monkey exhibit in North America (Monkey Island). And the most black rhino births (18). It also ranks as a world-leader in breeding Indochinese tigers (29)
Other accomplishment: Put the first Aye-aye and chimpanzees on display. Also with the knowledge of AI on the cats, the zoo will get a male aye-aye in the fall and start breeding using AI for the first time on that species, same goes for the clouded leopards.
