If we divide the number of population (close estimate) in: the European Union+Switzerland, Australia, and U.S.A.+Canada, with the number of captive rhinos (close estimate) held in these regions, we get that Australia (Australasia) is a winner!
Here we go:
European Union + Switzerland
Population: around 520 milions (520,000,000)
Population of captive rhinos: around 420 (white, 260, black, 87, Indian, 74)
Ratio population/population of captive rhinos: 1,238,000/1, so there is one rhino for every 1,238,000 people.
United States of America + Canada
Population: around 360 milions
Population of captive rhinos: around 400 (white, 210, black ,120, Indian, 70)
Ratio population/population of captive rhinos: 900,000/1, so there is one rhino for every 900,000 people.
Australia + New Zealand
Population: around 29 milions
Population of captive rhinos: around 60 (white 45, black 11, Indian 3-4)
Ratio population/population of captive rhinos: 483,000/1, so there is one rhino for every 483,000 people.
So Europe, you need more captive rhinos!
It would be interesting to know the data for Japan and for some European countries like Germany for example, but I can't do this now.
