Potential WCS Visit

Hi all,

I am considering a trip from D.C. to NYC in June and I'm wondering if people had thoughts on the best zoo to see in the WCS family? I've spent next to no time in NYC so I don't know my way around and I'd be taking the train/without a car

I'd also really like to head out on a whale watch with American Princess Cruises but again this is all just brainstorming and I have no definitive plans yet!

Bronx. If you're going to want a non-Bronx one as well, I think Central Park would be the most convenient and practical to see since its in touristy Manhattan, which I'd assume you'll be spending most of your time in. Its personally my least favorite of the NYC/WCS zoos, but Staten Island and Queens are out-of-the-way and for Staten Island you'd have to pay a hefty amount of tolls just to enter the borough from other parts on NYC. The last NYC zoo is Prospect Park, but currently the best exhibit (imo), Hall of Animals, is closed due to a recent flood. Its a very small zoo as it is and with that exhibit out of commision its not worth visiting at this time.
