Predator Management in the US

In light of the wolf killings in Idaho and Montana, I thought maybe we could have a discussion on predator management in the United States.

I say the United States since I've been seeing it as a special case if you will since I think it gets most of the attention and certain lobbies I think are more powerful here than in other countries. That and a lot of people act like predators aren't allowed to hunt game animals.

Take for example what's happening in Utah.

Is Utah waging ‘perpetual war on cougars’ with hunting rules?
