Predators and the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation

The North American Model of Wildlife Conservation is touted as a very successful conservation model by state wildlife agencies. The model itself has 7 tenets or sisters to it.

1. Wildlife resources are a public trust
2. Markets for game are eliminated
3. Allocation of wildlife is by law
4. Wildlife can be killed only for a legitimate prupose
5. Wildlife is considered an international resource
6. Science is the proper tool to discharge wildlife policy
7. Democracy of huting is standard

This is a great model for ungulates, game birds, etc...but not so much for predators. Whenever you read about predators in articles written by hunters in their magazines or state wildlife agencies when they talk about predation, they make it sound like predation on their natural prey is one of the worst things ever. In this thread you can post articles from pro and anti predator sources, videos, etc. But what are your thoughts on how North America's predators are treated?
