Primate transportation in zoos

hello all! i have been doing some research about all the zoos in america and europe who inhabited proboscis monkeys. i know apenhaul had received some from singapore, and then eventually sent their last male back to singapore. my question is, how did they transport them there and back? what method of transportation did they use? how did they set the space they would be in up? how did the ensure the animals would be comfortable? were the animals frightened or anxious about traveling? thank you!

Transport of primates is rather easy. You make a stable crate with enough openings for fresh air (IATA guidelines) and as the space is dark the animals are usually very quiet. Most primates (with the possible exception of marmosets and tamarins) do not need perching in the crate, they just sit on the bedding. They will have food and water for the trip. Ofcourse there is some stress for the animals, but at arrival they usually recover quickly. And onbce they are in the crate they are very calm. Stress also happens in the wild.
I do not think that this was different for the proboscis monkeys, this is a species with a very calm nature.

IATA guidelines require perching/shelves in all monkey crates, not just callitrichids.
