I have tried to make a complete list of primate species currently kept in zoos and tropical gardens.
No others really keeps primate in Sweden these days as it is illegal to keep primates as pets in Sweden and therefore likely to be a very, very small number kept outside zoos and tropical gardens.
Frösö Zoo (Östersund)
I know that this zoo keeps several species of primate but as I have not been there more than very briefly on two occasions I don’t know which species they keep. They have a lousy website too.
Pygmy Marmoset Cebuella pygmaea: Has several family groups, one of their females recently gave birth to a albino infant this year.
Furuvik Zoo (Gävle)
Sumatran Orangutang Pongo abelii:Only keeps a single female and a single male (from Switzerland) at the moment, the female gave birth to a dead born male in August 2007. This was the second time the female got pregnant, but sadly both have been dead born.
Western chimpanzee Pan troglodytes verus: It has for a long time been questioned which chimapnzee subspecies is kept there; at the moment they keep 4 individuals, 2 females, 1 male and 1 young individual (recent addition, female I think) which I don’t know the sex of.
White-handed Gibbon Hylobates lar: They keep 4 individuals at the moment but had 5 until very recently; sadly they put their adult male to sleep sometime in June-July 2007.
Black and White Ruffed Lemur Varecia variegata variegata:They keep two individuals at the moment, a female from the UK (Chester?) as well as a hand-feed male coming from Skansen. I don’t know from were Skansen got their male from as to my knowledge this species isn’t kept there.
Ring-tailed Lemur Lemur catta:I know they have two groups at the moment, of 14 respectively 3 individuals; only a single litter raised this year. The animals kept here mostly originate from other zoos in Sweden (Skansen and Öland for ex) and I think a few from Holland as well, few have been born there.
Pygmy Marmoset Cebuella pygmaea:Keeps at least two family groups, don’t know exactly how many but something like 10-15.
Common Marmoset Callithrix jacchus:At least two family groups in June 07, of 4 respectively 2 individuals.
Bolivian Squirrel Monkey Saimiri boliviensis:They keep a 1 male and 1 female
Guereza Colobus guereza:They kept this species until very recently, had 5-6 individuals that were sent to Paris Zoo, France. They kept the matschiei subspecies.
I know that there currently is discussion about bringing Lowland Gorilla (both have been discussed) as well as Bonobo to the park. They will soon start and build on a new orang-utan house.
Skansen (Stockholm)
Ring-tailed Lemur Lemur cattaThey keep a very large group (biggest in Sweden I think) and have some 20-25 individuals.
Hamadryas Baboon Papio hamadryasThey keep a large group of this species as well, at least 30-35 individuals, they had at least 9 young ones in August 07.
Colobus guereza matschiei:I think they have around 7 individuals currently, but they now keeps considerbly fewer individuals than they used to, several individuals was released into the wild in Kenya a few years ago.
Golden Lion Tamarin Leontopithecus rosaliaAt least two family groups shown to be public at the moment, both is small and only 3 recpectively 2 individuals I think, probably keeps a large number as they have raised over 65 over the years.
Goeldi's marmoset Callimico goeldii: Keept in the same incloaser as the mata-mata and snapper turtles, keep a family group of 3-5.
Cotton-top Tamarin Saguinus oedipus:I dont know how many individuals the keep, I have not seen anyhere for over 2 years now.
White-faced saki Pithecia pithecia: Has never kept more than 2-3 individuals.
Pygmy Marmoset Cebuella pygmaeaI know of at least four family groups displayed in public.
Red Titi Callicebus cupreus:Their most recent addition, a family group on 7 individuals.
Gray Gentle Lemur Hapalemur griseus:A single family group on 5 individuals.
Slow Loris Nycticebus coucang: Earlier 2 were kept in their nocturnal room, but as they no longer has a nocturnal room they are no longer showed to the public, possibly still keeps them.

Ring-tailed Lemur Lemur catta:
Long-tailed Macaque Macaca fascicularis
Rhesus Macaque Macaca mulatta
Red-bellied Tamarin Sanguinus labiatus
They probably still keeps Cotton-top Tamarin Saguinus oedipus as well but I have not seen any since 2004.
I would say that this list is 90% complete, species such as white and black ruffed lemur at Furuvik is kept away from the public while other zoos is slow on updating which species they keep. Others zoo has taken species of display and it may therefore be difficult to know if they still keeps some species.
