Purplish Jay (cyanocorax cyanomelas) & Green Jay (Cyanocorax yncas)

Does anyome know of any collections (public or private) in UK/Europe holding the above species?
 
Check Zootierliste. Cyanocorax is kept in 13 public collections including 2 in the UK. Cyanocorax cyanomelas is kept in 4 public collections including one in the UK. They are also kept in private collections although in very small numbers.

Reason that I raised the question is that UK aviculturist is desperately seeking a cock Purplish Jay and a hen Green Jay for breeding.

I have passed on the public collection list for him to contact the collections holding both species - but if anyone knows of anyone else keeping the species, please let me know!

This is one of the cases where interaction between public and private collections could be beneficial.
 
Good luck, getting these birds will be a challenge. Most probably he will make more chance if he s prepared to swap birds, because there won't be many people preparing to sell. Or if so for quite a sum of money. I saw your friend was also looking for the bird in avicultural circles. I know 2 males from Cyanocorax species for sale, but then he ll be stuck with 3 species for which he looks for a partner.
 
I guess this won't help much, but Green Jays are pretty common in the US public collections. I have no clue about private collections though. I can think of at least 3 (probably 4 or more) zoos in my state with Green Jays.
 
Hello

I breed my first Cyanocorax cyanomelas these year. I am a privet bird collector. I don't know if it's a male or female yet. It seem they are starting a second nest. I was hoping that I can exchange with someone? Please let me know if anyone can help me? I live in Italy.
