Does Parc paradisio still house a pair of Aceros Cassidix ( Sulawesi wrinkled hornbill)?

Where did the Samar Tarictic at Walsrode come from?

How long has the Jabiru been kept in that birdpark? I can't remember the name, but it's on that link that Jwer posted in the rare species in European zoos thread.

I'm not sure whether they update on ISIS. Maybe someone who's visited recently could help.

Also, what do people know about the white crowned hornbills at Paradisio?
 
Paradisio still has a pair of the cassidix.

the jabiru lives in the birdpark in Niendorf (timmendorfer strand) (D: Niendorf (Vogelpark Niendorf) @ Fotopic.Net second page). the only thing i know about that animal is that its already quite old. Perhaps one of the german member knows more about it.
 
It´s only one old male i think. Lives toghether with some other storks.
 
I think that samar hornbill in Walsrode comes from a private breeder but I don't know exactly where he's from.
There's a birdpark in south of France in La Londes les Maures where lots of hornbills and currassows species are being kept AND bred (Aceros cassidix, A. comatus, A. corrugatus, A. undulatus, two subspecies of wrinkled hornbills, the only pair of Buceros bicornis homrai, B. hydrocorax, Ceratogymna sp. and many more...).
 
Pedro, Could you find a name for this park, so I could research more. We quite like the south of France, so we could work it into a trip.
 
What happened to Walsrode's Sulawesi hornbills (penelopides exharatus Sanfordi)?

They were imported in 2002, but I don't know what's been going on with them?

On the site you will find there an Aceros plicatus male has just been received in exchange on breeding loan. The park has 5 prospective breeding pairs!!!

The park also participates in several EAZA ESB studbooks. A french book on birds is available detailing the breeding history for 1999-2004 somewhere.

Does anyone know what became of "Albrecht" the first born Indian rhino at Nurnberg zoo, he was born in 1999.

Try Lisieux Zoo for starters. He is the breeding bull now, his fiancee being Winona ex Planckendael. They are still trying, ... knows why no pregnancy has ensued to date!
 
Has anyone heard what the exciting new hoofstock species to come to chester is yet?

I am afraid so, with young bulls their inexperience shows through ... shining (so to speak) :D. He must lay on a few more pounds to make him look anything like a good sport to 12 year old Winona ........ brrrrrrrrr oops!

I guess it is like ... (for her) when will he get his act together then???? :)
