Rare species kept in private (european) collections

I think opossums in general are a group that are much more common in private than in public. There are at least five species I know that are about in Europe (with another two being present in America) that are either very rare or absent in zoos, and when present in zoos they usually come from the private sector.

Can you elaborate on the Opossum species you mention here? For Europe would these be the same 5 listed on zootierliste? Then the additional 2 in America are Common Opossum and bare-tailed woolly opossum?

i forgot the who the keeper was and if it was mentioned somewhere on here before but i have a post i think it was fb that showed two brown hyneas at a private collection in the uk

You mean Todd Dalton? He has his own thread here.

Honestly I can not tell since I am not familiar with scene, and rather just scrolled thru social media so therefor I can not state if the two d be the same specimen or potentially an extra pair.
