Bristol Zoo (Closed) Rehoming of animals from the closed Bristol Zoo

Does anybody have any information on where the paddlefish and gar went/will go, as zootierliste implies they left the zoo early and the article makes no mention of them (unless they are included among the 'various fish heading to London Sealife and Chester Zoo')? They were the species that I enjoyed most at Bristol.

that's good and where would the seals and penguins go ?
I think with the penguins it has been announced that they are intended to move them to Birdland in the Cotswolds - though I'm not sure if anything has been said about the seals..

right you are and let's hope the seals gets a new home

I hope they are mostly public about where the animals are going, I will definitely be keeping an eye out to see if anything comes over to Chester.
There may be elderly animals difficult to rehome too. For example I'd be interested to know what happens to the last elderly Lion-tailed Macaques. I imagine the two options for them are either a Monkey sanctuary or quiet euthanasia.

Well Colchester might have some room for more Lion Tailed Macaques!

Could the fur seals perhaps move to Yorkshire wildlife park. They have 2 pools in the point lobos enclosure which can be separated from eachother

The animals I'm most curious to hear about are the Livingstone's flying foxes - will they be joining the other group at Jersey or will a new holder take them on?

At the keeper talk yesterday, Connor the presenter said that the majority already went to Jersey, but the remaining 4 males are off to a new collection to hold them but said it wasn’t for him to say as there will only be two zoos in the world to hold them and both will be in the UK.

At other talks, they said that the Fur Seals have now been found a new home in the Uk and they were sure this would be announced soon by the new collection.

The Keas are off to Paradise Park Cornwall.

Lions, the keepers said they had heard that they were possibly going to Drayton Manner or Whipsnade, but they didn’t know for sure and this was only keeper talk at the Zoo. But they were happy to say this at the talk to the many hundreds watching, so I feel no issue to post here.

Flamingos are off to Flamingo Land ironically!

No one seemed to know where the Tree kangaroo was going :(

Giant Tortoises off to Jersey, a smaller tortoise, not sure on breed has gone to Dartmoor.

Mara and Warty Pigs have got a collection to go to, but keeper couldn’t remember where, said she would let me know if I saw her again that day when she found out, but didn’t see her again.

Hope that is of some help to some of you.

The paddle fish are going to Valencia, the gars and some of the other larger fish are going to Biotropica.

Perhaps they can go to Monkey World

The paddlefish and three species of gar were still in Bristol Zoo's Aquarium yesterday.

Thank you! I wonder why ZTL lists them is former, but still lists the gorillas and gibbons among others as current...

Good idea but theirs are elderly also afaik. They may not want to try and add more if they are simply waiting for them to die off and replace with something else. Plus introducing more old individuals might be difficult. A Monkey Sanctuary for 'retirement' might be more suitable for them. We wait to see...

I didn't know the ones at Colchester were elderly, (shows no one knows much about them) maybe you are right and when they die out their enclosure could be combined with the empty Wild Dog Paddocks (sorry this is a bit off topic), did Colchester have a big Lion Tailed Macaque group at one point? Maybe it will be better Bristol's going to a sanctuary or more of a temporary holding, though I though Bristol would keep/move to Wild Place more of their animals than it seems at the moment.
