According to this article $30 billion more was invested in renewable energy (solar, wind, biomass) than in fossil fuels this year. I hope that this is true and will result ultimately in a renewable fuel economy for all of us. Much of the habitat destruction for our favorite critters seems to result from energy development and production (e.g., BP oil spill in Gulf of Mexico).
