Hello.
I am trying to get a baseline view of what information about giraffe biology and conservation is being conveyed to zoo visitors through the giraffe exhibits in zoos around the world.
As we have folks here from literally every corner of the world I'm hoping that some of you can help me gather this information.
If you could take a picture of the giraffe exhibit signs and interpretive graphics at your local zoo or zoos that you visit and either post them to this thread and/or send them to me directly I would be very grateful.
The goal of this project is to understand what giraffe conservation message is going out through the world's giraffe exhibits. Much of what is assumed about giraffe conservation is rapidly changing. There are likely more than one species and several of them (Rothschild, reticulated, West African giraffe [G.c. peralta], possibly Masai) are in real trouble in the wild.
if you have any questions about this please let me know, and thanks in advance for any help you can lend with this.
Thank you.
David
