I was able to stop by here after visiting the nearby ABQ Biopark Zoo. The two facilities are both part of the larger ABQ Biopark, but they require separate tickets. The Zoo is its own ticket and the Aquarium/Botanical Gardens/BUGarium are a combo ticket together.
This is a nice small aquarium, I wish we could have taken a little longer, but 45 minutes is about the max here to see it all. The tanks are all well done and the animals seem to be well cared for. The design is nice, standard for aquariums these days. The glass tunnel in the Pacific Coral Reef tank was a nice touch that many smaller aquariums lack.
They also had the standard ray touch tank and moon jellys.
The highlight is the "Oceans/Shark" tank, which had sandbar sharks, zebra shark, nurse shark sand tiger shark, tarpon, stingrays, and sea turtles. Honestly the tank felt a bit crowded with the amount of large fish in there.
North American river otters had a really large habitat, they were doing there thing.
Overall I think this is a nice stop if you are in the area and have some time. Together with the botanical gardens and BUGarium it is a good 2-3 hour stop.
